Butlin's Memorabilia's Websites Privacy Notice

I want to express my gratitude for your interest in delving deeper into the privacy policy and its relevance to you as you navigate the Butlins Memorabilia website. Like many other online platforms, the costs associated with running this site are on the rise, particularly due to the need for enhancements such as mobile compatibility and optimising the site for a better user experience. The Butlins Memorabilia website is free to access and will continue to be so, as the information provided here reflects my genuine affection for a company I greatly admire. Over the years, I have introduced a 'wish to donate' option in the menu, with the hope of receiving some assistance with these costs. While donations are completely optional, I extend my heartfelt thanks to those who have contributed; in the past five years leading up to 2025, there have not been a lot of donations to the site.

I am not complaining about this in any way, as these donations are and should always be voluntary, never something one should feel compelled to do. With the rising cost of living, I began exploring options and reached out to Google AdSense regarding their services, which appear to be widely utilised by other websites. After reviewing their offerings, I found them to be among the best, as they allow me to block ads that are considered adult content, filter out ads that may not be suitable for this site, and present what I believe to be the best options for all of you. Following their guidelines, I was able to create this policy and the cookie policy in hopes that this page will clarify what it all entails. I will monitor any additional requirements in case they arise and will provide updates as necessary.

Please note that Google has no direct connection to the contents shown on this website and is not responsible for anything on this site, with only the advertisements shown at the top of each page (some at the bottom).  The Butlins Memorabilia website and Mark Banks are not responsible for the advertisement that is shown, which is connected to the company shown and Google AdSense.

One of the key priorities is to enhance the safety of children while they navigate the internet. Butlins Memorabilia website email addresses

All correspondence from Butlins Memorabilia will exclusively originate from the email address ending in @butlinsmemorabilia.co.uk. Any email address that does not include this domain should be regarded as a phishing attempt (someone impersonating me). Changes to this Privacy Policy

Butlins Memorabilia website reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy as deemed necessary from time to time or as may be required by law. Any changes will be immediately posted on the website, and you are deemed to have accepted the terms of the Privacy Policy on your first use of the website following the alterations.

Website address and domain

All website links will consistently feature .butlinsmemorabilia.co.uk, which also applies to the email address. If this address is absent, it is advisable to treat that site as a phishing attempt aimed at collecting your information. Please keep in mind that the Butlins Memorabilia website does not ask for any personal information. The only legitimate site is www.butlinsmemorabilia.co.uk.

Good links

When you view the website address above, you will notice that after the .co.uk, it will have privacy.html at the end. This is actually a good link, as you can see the full website address attached (in bold) https://www.butlinsmemorabilia.co.uk/privacy.html What this link tells you is that the page is located at the Butlins Memorabilia website and that privacy.html is the name of that page.

Another good example is my contact page, which is shown as https://www.butlinsmemorabilia.co.uk/getintouch/askmark.html. As you can see in bold, this link highlights my website address and that this particular part of the website is found in the folder getintouch and the page is called askmark.html. This is done in a separate folder to help navigation work better and to cause no conflicts.

Bad links

Butlins Memorabilia website does not use subdomains at the moment. A subdomain name is where the www part of the address has been replaced with another name. For example, if I wanted to show the visitor a page about myself, I could consider using mark.butlinsmemorabilia.co.uk instead of www.butlinsmemorabilia.co.uk/mark/. I have not had much luck with a subdomain name on my current setup, so I decided to keep it simple. If you come across a link showing the www.butlinsmemorabilia.co.uk at the start, please assume it's a fake website pretending to be this one.

Another bad example of someone trying to change the address is by making it look the same, but there are some small changes to the address. For example, a person trying to pretend to be this site would show the butlinsmemorablia.co.uk part, but that would not be the end, with some extra added. For example, they could try www.butlinsmemorabilia.co.uk.com. This link is incorrect, as we can see the bold part is showing additional information, leading to another website. Remember, Butlin's memorabilia website finished with .co.uk and the only part next to the k should be a

Your safety online should always be number one, so please be careful- if in doubt, load the main page at https://www.butlinsmemorabilia.co.uk/ and then use the contact option in the menu to check with Mark to see if the information is correct to be on the safe side. Remember, the Butlin's Memorabilia website does not request any personal information or any payment information.

Google Adsense Adverts

Non-personalised ads

After reviewing the available options, I have concluded that the most suitable choice is to opt for the non-personalised advertisements. The Google ads are designed to present topics of interest that you may wish to explore further.

Googles Description

Non-personalised advertisements rely on contextual data instead of an individual's previous online behaviour. While these ads do not utilise cookies for personalisation, they do employ cookies for purposes such as frequency capping, aggregated reporting, and preventing fraud and abuse. Consequently, in regions where the EU ePrivacy Directive's cookie regulations are applicable, user consent is necessary for the use of cookies for these functions. It is important to note that Google does not mandate obtaining consent for the use of the browser's Trust Token API aimed at addressing fraud and abuse.

Further Information

To optimise the advertisement experience on partner websites, Google makes use of cookies, which are found on sites displaying Google ads or those that are part of Google-certified ad networks. When users navigate to a partner's site, a cookie may be set in their browser. Various third-party vendors, including Google, rely on cookies to provide advertisements that are informed by a user's past visits to your website or other online destinations. This functionality allows Google and its partners to present ads to users based on their browsing patterns on your sites and other areas of the Internet. Additionally, this site may utilise third-party vendors or advertising networks for ad placement.

Who and What is Butlin's Memorabilia Website
The Butlins Memorabilia website was originally established as a place on the internet where people could view Mark Banks' Butlins collections. As a passionate enthusiast of the brand, Mark took the initiative to explore the extensive history that led to the website's transformation. Now, the Butlins Memorabilia site has matured into a historical education platform, demonstrating to visitors the meaningful ways in which Butlins has fostered joy and created unforgettable memories.

Are you the official Butlins Archive?
There exists only ONE official website that represents Butlins and that is located at www.butlins.com. The Butlins Memorabilia website is NOT the official archive of Butlins, nor does it serve as the authentic historical record of this extraordinary company. Butlins and their respective parent company have no role in the development of this site and have not participated in its creation. The singular official source for all Butlins information is the one indicated above. This site is strictly a fan-created platform, and any material presented here should be viewed as unofficial. Butlins and their esteemed parent company have NOT reached out to me to create this site, nor have they requested me to promote them. I undertake this effort solely to demonstrate my appreciation for their remarkable name and brand.

The Untold Stories of Butlin's
An exciting addition to the website is the section titled "Untold Stories of Butlin's," which includes a range of personal stories. These narratives have been contributed by members of the Butlins Memorabilia social media groups, who have shared their individual experiences at Butlin's. It is important to understand that these stories are not sanctioned by the official company but are personal recollections from the individuals, as indicated on the page. The accounts shared reflect the magical atmosphere of Butlin's and the memorable moments it has inspired.

Can I get in touch with you about my situation at Butlins for some help?
For any issues related to bookings, inquiries on how to use the app, or to file a complaint, it is essential to follow the official procedure by contacting Butlins directly. Unfortunately, the Butlins Memorabilia website is not equipped to handle these matters, and no assistance can be provided through this platform. Complaints must be directed to Butlins, as they are the only ones capable of addressing them; this site lacks the direct control or involvement necessary to assist. The sole website that can provide help is the Butlin's official site, www.butlins.com. Everything you need can be found there, including their contact page, which is available on this link, and assistance with the Butlins app can be found on this link.

Google adverts and policies
There is a single Google advertisement located at the top of each page. I have created a privacy policy available at this link and a cookie policy at this link, which aim to provide further clarification regarding this section of the website, with the intention of enhancing your understanding of how this operates.
