Butlin's caravans were an idea that arrived quite late as there was a lot of concentration on the chalets, hotels and lodges. During the Butlin's Holiday Worlds era, there were options to own a caravan on the Butlin's camp. The locations that were available were Wonderwest World (AYR), Starcoast World (Pwllheli), Somerwest World (Minehead) and Funcoast World (Skegness). There would be a charge for the ground rent however coming to the location is something you do as many times as you wish (to the terms of the opening times of the camps).
Today, this continues in the Minehead and Skegness resorts in Butlins. Many people have purchased these caravans and have rented them out as a way for customers to seek alternative accommodation. However, those in caravans do not automatically get access to the free areas unless a pass is issued, called a complimentary pass. Renting out the caravans is done by the person and in some cases, via websites. Below is two buttons showing you the caravans.
