Amazing photos of Butlin's Minehead in the early days of Butlin's Holiday Worlds, known as Somerwest World. These photos show the chalets, swimming pool, donkey derby, and funfair. A truly amazing addition to the Butlins Memorabilia website.
Marks notes: "This photograph shows the Gaiety Green and the Donkey Derby. The Gaiety Green is still there, but the Donkey Derby is not so much".
Marks notes: "Show you the outdoor swimming pool, which was in the middle of the camp at the front. From 2024, you will sit on tables and chairs facing the pavilion stage.".
Marks notes: "An amazing photo that shows the front lake, meaning this is a photo from the early 90s. The funfair did not move this area until sometime between 1991 and 1995, not sure of the exact year.".
Marks notes: "This area still exists today (as of 2024). The difference is that the building you see in the background is the Yacht and Deck Dining.".
Marks notes: "Known as the Twister Ride".
Marks notes: "The building at the rear of this photo was where the arcade was based. It was demolished some time ago however, a little bit still remains as of 2024. When you go to Reds, look opposite and its there on the side.".
Marks notes: "The building on the left is known as the Beachcomber building, formerly the Stadium building. It was demolished in the early 2000s to make way for the new Blue Skies. During the Covid, a new entertainment building called Studio 36 was built in its place, which still stands today."
