Welcome to the untold story of John's story, a former Redcoat named Dippy. Working for Butlin's from 1987, John would start his career as a lifeguard. Keeping everyone safe in the Butlin's pools, John would work his way into the entertainment department and become a Redcoat. Helping to create special memories for all the customers coming for their break, John would continue to entertain the customers as Redcoat until the end of 1991.
In 1992, John would start his next step in Butlins as becomes a sound engineer. It was not long after that John became the stage manager. He would continue to work in Butlins as a stage manager until the end of the Butlins Holiday World era in 1998. It's also amazing to read that he was the last stage manager in the Gaiety Theatre, which today is known as Hotshots.
The area in front of the seating area by the pillar that is boxed off is the sound and lighting box where I was sound and lighting engineer
