Using Google Maps or Google Earth, we can see Butlin's Filey over the years. Below are photos from Google Earth showing you a lot of details of the former campsite and giving you a great insight into the former Butlins camp.
Each photo has a copyright credit under each one. This is done in accordance with the rules specified at this link. I am thankful to be able to show these screenshots, which were taken using Google Earth (click on these words to see more) for historic education.
As you can see, the former layout remains in place and shows you what the Butlins Filey camp once looked like. Also, note the train platforms to the left hand side (see further below)
Not much has really changed in the one year.
The expansion of the caravans has started to make its way onto more of the former Butlins camps site.
Progress has been made the Bay Filey starting to make its appearance on the former site as the old Butlins Filey starts fade away
A lake has now arrived at the location with the Bay Filey now fully built. There is still a little bit remaining of the former camp.
The rear of the camp is now fully developed with Haven and the Bay Filey now connected. Evidence of the former Butlins site is no longer shown in this image with only the platforms remaining.
The former Butlins Filey site is no more and has a new life with creating new memories for all those who come to this location for their break.
The platform remain in 2001 however the track is removed

Mother nature starts to take over the platforms
There is much growth with trees as the platforms are hard to see
The platforms still remain in place
The platforms are no longer in place as another part of history comes to an end.
