Welcome to Kevin Aston Photos

I wanted to express my highest thanks to Kevin for allowing me to share these great photos on this website. These photos are amazing to see and it is such an honour to be able to see them first. Kevin's history goes deep into Butlin's and as you can see in these photos, we see another side of this amazing name. Each photo adds a new story to the name Butlin's.

In memory of Kevin's parents Mr Jack and Mrs Mavis Aston. Thank you also for these amazing photos that were done during your time at Butlins.

Here is Kevins second part of his family photos, this time in colour. All these photos have a close place in Kevin's heart and important memories. For us all, we can not only see these wonderful family photos but also Butlins history.

In memory of Kevin's parents Mr Jack and Mrs Mavis Aston and thanks to them, we can all witness history frozen in time. It's such an honour to be able to see these and share with you all.

Mark Banks Comments about these photos

Below are my notes on key areas of interest that I had found on these photos.

Ingoldmells Hotel

The hotel was there and in excellent condition. Here we witness a time that is now no more and it's amazing to see in the early days of Butlin's.

This photo gives us all a chance to see the original accommodation. Today, some of these remain in place giving you an idea of their true value to the name, Butlins.

Sir Billy Butlin Spirit

Here is an excellent example of the Sir Billy Butlin spirit all in one photo. No WiFi and no devices, just family fun!

Additional areas

You have the classic fountain in the background, a symbol of Billy Butlins. However, look closer and to the right-hand side you will see that lamp post design, classic Butlins all in one photo.

An extremly important photo

Look at the background and you will see an important area of Butlins history. "Your True Intent Is All For Your Delight" with the two Redcoats standing to attention, wow.

Butlins Monorail

The one area that a lot of people of very passionate about is the monorail. Here it is full glory ready to go around the camp. It is greatly missed by a lot of members.

Monorail Station

Just amazing to see and an important part of Butlins history.

Additional areas
It's great to see Butlins boasting "The largest hearted swimming pool in Britain". Also take note of them lovely lamp post.

As you can see from this photo, we have a better view of the decorations used by Butlins. These have a lot of fond memories for many people.

Orginal Chalets
I was extremely honoured to be given permission to go inside the original chalet in 2019. Today, we also get to see this unit as they were used.

Here we see children having fun playing with parents relaxing. At this stage, no one would know that the unit they are staying is going to be so very cherished in the future.

Amazing photo.
